Reker, Nicolle (Nikki) age 46, of Little Canada MN, died August 24, 2016 at home surrounded by her devoted family. Nikki was born July 27, 1970, in Heron Lake, MN to David and Roxie Collin. She attended area schools, graduating from Heron Lake-Okabena-Lakefield High School in 1988. She married the love of her life, Kevin Reker, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Heron Lake in 1989. They are the parents of two daughters, Zoe, age 23, and Nicolette, age 21. Nikki was a long-time employee of Ameriprise Financial where she was a well-respected leader and champion of those with whom she worked. Nikki was an avid outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed spending time at their cabin near Seeley WI, where their family enjoyed strong friendships and community support. Nikki loved Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, cycling, running, and triathlons. She was an outstanding wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, and enjoyed cooking and making fabulous coffee and cocktails for her friends and family.
Survived by her husband and daughters; her mother; siblings Tim (Mary) Collin, Dave (Barb) Collin, Becky (Carl Meyers) Collin, Shelly (Dave) Wolff, Bill (Jane) Collin, Roxann (RayeAnn Hoffman) Collin, Bart (Dana) Collin, and Jason (Kim) Collin; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and an infant brother, Todd.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, August 27, at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 1979 Old Hudson Road, St. Paul, MN, 651-789-0404. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Chequamegon Area Mountain Bike Association (CAMBA), Minnesota Public Radio, or the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation.
