Wildcats place seventh as a team at Mountain Lake cross country meet
Logan Knutson started his senior season as a Heron Lake-Okabena High School cross country with an impressive third-place individual performance — among 100 finishing runners — at the 12-team Wolverine Invitational at Mountain Lake’s Golf Course last Wednesday, August 31.
Windom senior John Irwin ran all by himself at the front of the huge group of competitors, covering the 5,000-meter (3.1 miles) distance in 16:51.
Knutson, Fairmont junior Nathan Willett and Murray County Central/Fulda senior Isaiah Olsem eventually moved into a three-way challenge for second, separating themselves from the rest of the pack.
