Kay Karen DeWall, 77, passed away on July 5, 2016. She was born on June 7, 1939 in Amboy, MN to James and Dorothy Rasmusson.
Kay grew up in Lakefield, MN. She graduated from Lakefield High School. After high school she attended Kahler Nursing School in Rochester, MN. She went on to be a flight nurse in the US Air Force Reserves. Kay continued nursing and was a blessing to many patients for 42 years.
On February 1, 1964 she married Mike DeWall in Lakefield, MN. They were happily married for 52 years. Kay enjoyed spending time and traveling with her husband, singing in the church choir, playing piano, gardening and spending time with her family.
Kay is survived by her husband Mike, three sons, Matt of Okabena, Tony (Lori) of Heron Lake, Darren (Tracy) of Hugo; two daughters Melissa (Richard) Biller of Minocqua, WI., Melinda of Bingham Lake; nine grandchildren, Lance, Lukas, Julia, Taylor, Jordan, Ryan, Emma, Haley and Lila. Also surviving are two brothers Robert of Hager City, WI, David of Winona, MN and one sister Sandra (Roger) Hartman of Okabena.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents James and Dorothy Rasmusson and stepfather Ernest Nelson.
Funeral services were held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Okabena MN on Friday, July 8, at 11:30 AM.
