The theme for this year’s Jackson County Relay for Life event is “Paint Your World Purple.” The event will be held from 4:00 p.m. to midnight on August 5th at the Jackson County Fairgrounds.
Survivor registration will begin at 4:00 p.m. along with bingo that will be played throughout the nightl. Local talent Mickayla Ziegler, Caitlin Lillquist, and Paige Anderson will be starting at 5:00. The burger feed will begin at 5:00, with the burgers grilled by the Cottonwood-Jackson Cattlemen’s Association.
At 6:30 a JCC and HLO variety show will be presented. At 7:00 p.m. will be the Locks Challenge and the final registration for the colors of cancer fun run/walk. Shortly following the final registration will be the beginning of the fun run/walk. The JCC and HLO variety show will continue at 7:30.
The opening ceremony will begin at 8:00 p.m. with master of ceremonies Dave Maschoff. At dusk will be the lighting of the luminaria and an invocation by Tony Comer.
The goal for this year is $34,000. Plan on attending the 22nd Jackson County Relay for Life on Friday, August 5th, 2016.
